World first 3D horror movie drew a large audience

3D Horror Movie, which was produced by Wasol's 3D acquisition solution, "True Horror Stories" was put on the screen in prosperity in Japanese Fuji TV summer festival "Venture King 2005". This festival was held from 16th July to 31st August in Tokyo.

The World first 3D horror movie was screened 16 times everyday at the multi theatre of Fuji TV main office building drawing a full house every time even though it is the only event that collected admission fee.

The visitors amounted to over 100,000 for a single screen during the festival.

Senior producer of Fuji TV, Yoshikazu Kobayashi directed the movie and the most famous actress in Japan, Matsuura Aya starred.

¡áWasol's 3D HD solution was certified as a perfect cinema projection

This HD digital 3D horror movie was judged to be equivalent to 35mm film quality.

Wasol's HD Demultiplexer were used for the digital projection feeding two Christie DLP projectors to bring pin-sharp stereoscopic images in real high definition to the wide 3D silver screen in the particularly constructed 3D theatre.

Natural and wonderful 3D effect was highly appraised also; no-eye fatigue, dizziness or headache occurred and visitors were taken aback by the strong 3D images such as fragments of glass spring out of the screen.

 

¡áWasol's 3D solution assured producer of its superior effectiveness on 3D production

Fuji TV produced this 14-minute long 3D horror movie for themselves employing Wasol's 3D lens system, Wasol 3D58 LenSys¢Eand Sony HDW-F900 HD camera.

This 3D horror movie was the first 3D project for Fuji TV but they produced it easily with hour and effort that are identical to traditional 2D production.

The director, Kobayashi said that Wasol's innovative 3D solution enabled them to present world first 3D horror movie and it would open a new era of 3D motion pictures.

The production team appraised Wasol's 3D solution that provided with technical and economical efficiency.

...... Fuji TV held a festival, "Odiaba Venture King 2005 - the most pleasant resort in the history" in Tokyo where Fuji's main office is located.

In the first floor multi-theatre, Matsuura starring "True horror stories - 3D cinema" is now on.

From the planning to playing, Korean enterprise, Wasol's real 3D lens system was employed.

Wasol's representative in Japan, Visual Communications Inc. gave technical assistances.

The feature of Wasol's 3D system is 3D single shooting with single camera using real 3D lens. It does not need to use two channels of traditional dual camera system, therefore, post-production procedure is done normally...... Kodo PD in Fuji TV production center explained the reason Wasol's solution was adopted.

"It generates superior 3D effects like typical 3D images popping out of the screen and depth representation is quite good. "
We thought it would bring remarkable amusement to horror movie......
