Member of Taiyo to Ciscomoon. In 2000 she was part of Hello! Project shuffle unit Akagumi 4.

While in Hello! Project, she was the oldest member, being a year older than Nakazawa Yuko. Both her and Nakazawa were put into Akagumi 4 since they were the two oldest members and had the most experience relating to the feelings in the song Akai Nikkichou.

Shinoda is also a talented gymnast who competed in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. She was the all-Japan champion during the late 1980s. She often showed her talent in live performances while in Taiyo to Ciscomoon and once on Utaban during a jump rope competition with Akagumi 4.
